An "Unusual" Photographer (Me) in the World of Social Media
As I navigate decisions in my photography and business, I often reflect on the social media stress on us. While it provides valuable marketing opportunities and a chance to reach a wider audience, I frequently feel a sense of emptiness associated with it. This internal conflict pushes me to reevaluate my priorities and core values. I’ve recognized the essential aspects of my work and personal life that I am determined to protect and nurture, even amid the pressures of the digital landscape.

Growing up in the coolest era ( '80s and ‘90s), I experienced a time of authenticity permeating everyday life. Our worth wasn't measured by fleeting social media "likes"; instead, we valued genuine connections and experiences. Life was simpler, filled with real moments that made us feel significant. We mattered in a world that celebrated individuality and connection.

I am especially grateful for my friend Gladymar, our photographer during those years. She captured the essence of our teenage life and early college days—friendships, first heartbreaks, and unforgettable late summer nights on a stunning Puerto Rican beach, and marquesina parties...
The photos we took with disposable cameras were treasures, undeniable proof of our vibrant experiences. They captured our laughter and love, reminding us of the beauty in life's fleeting nature. We were natural, too engrossed in our authentic selves to worry about what others thought.
However, today, the landscape has changed.
In our current world, every moment is broadcast, shared, and quickly buried in the endless scroll of social media. While our phones are filled with thousands of photos, few make it to our walls. The ease of altering images diminishes the idea of proof, eroding the authenticity of our shared experiences. It’s time to reclaim the significance of our memories and cherish what truly matters. Let’s prioritize real connections over fleeting digital impressions.

I am passionate about pursuing my photography, motivated not by likes or shares but by capturing genuine moments. I aspire to inspire others to create meaningful experiences that establish a legacy true to themselves.

I encourage people to print their memories rather than keep them on a cell phone. Printed memories will endure through time, leaving an indelible mark that cannot be erased.
One day, we will embark on a journey to uncover the truth behind stories. We will seek to understand if the love described is as genuine as asserted, if those joyful tears truly flowed, and whether abandon in dance and promises made with trembling hands were real. Capturing these moments ensures the essence of those experiences is preserved for future generations.
Photographs will reveal the truth when memories begin to fade.

It saddens me that I didn’t realize the value of those prints until now. My mission is clear: I offer images that will outlast algorithms, screens, and doubts. Decades from now, when your grandchildren hold these photographs in their hands, they will know, without uncertainty, that your love was real.
This goes beyond photography. It’s your story, your legacy, and undeniable proof that you mattered.
Let’s protect and celebrate the moments that truly endure.
